What: Free concert showcases the collaboration of visiting master Nigerian musicians with UCLA musicians and dancers.

The Cultural Affairs Commission at UCLA, the organization that hosts the annual JazzReggae Festival, will hold a free concert entitled "West Africa meets Westwood," on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at 7pm. The event will showcase West African and American musical traditions, including: Afrobeat, Highlife, Jazz, and Fusion. The show will feature:
Master Nigerian bandleader Baba Ken Okulolo, who leads the Afro-Beat ensemble Kotoja, and the West African Highlife Band; known for his work with King Sunny Ade and other legendary Nigerian bands;
Soji Odukogbe, long-time lead guitarist for the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti;
Will Magid, trumpeter, event organizer, and UCLA senior;
along with a group of talented UCLA musicians and dancers. Scheduled to perform:
